Latisse®

Latisse® is the first FDA approved treatment for insufficient lashes and a welcome replacement for painstakingly gluing on false eyelashes. Latisse® contains the active ingredient bimatoprost that makes the lash growth possible. Research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the number of hairs, and the duration of the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because the active substance prolongs the growth phase. Latisse® works gradually over a 16-week treatment period. The use of Latisse® requires a prescription, so an appointment with a medical doctor is needed.

Latisse® may not be right for everyone. Patients with a history of glaucoma or are on medication for eye pressure or similar conditions should not use Latisse®.
